Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The subject of the seminar is the presentation and discussion of planned and ongoing MA theses in the fields of psychology, education or subject didactics in the field of psychology. The students should work out and develop their own questions. These are consolidated in the course of the seminar. The seminar accompanies the development of Master's theses on various topics. It helps with the identification of topics, the concretisation and the development process. The seminar relies on the research dynamics among the participants, who thus also support and advise each other.
There will be an initial status quo and information gathering, an individual time and work plan will be drawn up as well as a flash exposé.
This seminar is designed to support you in all phases of your Master's thesis.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance, active and continuous participation in the discussion, written elaboration and presentation of the exposé or parts of the MA thesis (incl. handout and PowerPoint), joint discussion in feedback groups, response (co-presentation) to other projects.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

1. max. 2 failed units (compulsory participation in the first unit) and active participation in discussion and feedback (20 points).
2. presentation of the own project (submission of the text at least one week before the presentation) (50 points)
3. a detailed (at least 2 pages) feedback on the content of one of the other projects/presentations (30 points)
For a positive assessment, all partial performances must be achieved.

Assessment standard:
Presentations: 50 points, feedback: 30 points, participation: 20 points.
Grading scale:
1 (very good) 100-90 points
2 (good) 89-81 points
3 (satisfactory) 80-71 points
4 (sufficient) 70-60 points
5 (not sufficient) 59-0 points

Examination topics

Presentation and discussion of exposés, parts and/or results of the thesis.
