In einem ersten theoretischen Teil werden die Grundlagen des Utilitarismus, der Deontologie, der Tugendethik und des Principilism erarbeit.
Darauf aufbauend werden spezifische Fragestellungen und Anwendungen der Bereichsethiken Medizinethik, Natur- und Umweltethik sowie der Ethik der Mensch-Tier-Beziehung behandelt. Behandelte Themen sind z.B. Klonen; Kritik und Verteidigug des Anthropozentrismus, Sentientismus und Biozentrismus; Artenschutz; Tierversuche oder die Tötungsproblematik im humanen sowie ausserhumanen Bereich.
Methoden: Vorträge durch den Lehrveranstaltungsleiter, Close Reading, Diskussionen und Gruppenarbeiten
