Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

1. The students should be able to read, understand and summarize a philosophical primary text in sections. They should also be able to give a comment on the text autonomously.
2. In addition, students should be able to give a basic outline of Hans Jonas' ethics and to reflect on this in writing.

Above all, the aim is to open up Jonas' ethics of responsibility and to offer students practice opportunities to learn to understand philosophical terms by reading a primary text.

Assessment and permitted materials

The overall grade is determined as the arithmetic mean of the grades of the partial performances.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The overall grade is determined according to the following scale:
1. Reading protocol of texts that were read and interpreted in the presence phase of the proseminar (25%)
2. Reading protocol of texts that were read independently (25%)
3. Written reflection on one of the sub-topics of the course (25%)
4. Independent written interpretation of a text section from the primary text at one's own option (25%)
