Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is conceptualised as an add-on to the lecture "Introduction to Cognitive Psychology" giving the opportunity for in-depth discussions of selected topics, research papers, and inviting students to practice designing and understanding cognitive psychological experiments. Topics include:

- perception, attention, learning and memory
- sleep and cognition
- consciousness
- current 'hot' topics in the field: artificial intelligence; mindfulness; creativity; etc.

Assessment and permitted materials

- attendance
- analysis of the literature
- oral presentation (1/3 of the final grade)
- moderation of a discussion (1/3 of the final grade)
- active participation in discussions (1/3 of the final grade)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquisition of knowledge and practice of the
- methods of cognitive psychology
- research results of cognitive psychology
- critical reflection of experiments and results
- applications of cognitive psychology

Assessment:
- oral presentation (1/3 of the final grade)
- moderation of a discussion (1/3 of the final grade)
- active participation in discussions (1/3 of the final grade)
