Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this Reading-Proseminar we will interpret Gilles Deleuze`s book Nietzsche and Philosophy (Paris 1962). A book of a young philosopher that meanwhile has become one of the most significant readings of Nietzsche at all. Deleuze’s text renders us a profound poststructuralist view on Nietzsches key concepts like the Will to Power, the doctrine of The Eternal Return, the notion of Active and Reactive Forces as well as Nietzsche’s critical evaluation of Christianity and European Nihilism.Above this, the pro-seminar aims to introduce you the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. Michel Foucault once claimed that the 21st century could one day, perhaps, be called Deleuzian.
