180162 VO-L Theories of truth (2015S)
Labels
The course will give a self-contained introduction to games and basic solution concepts (dominant strategies, backward induction, iterated elimination of dominated strategies,Nash equilibria ) with the goal of understanding game-theoretical rationality. Various kinds of games will be analyzed, but the focus will be on the distinction between win-lose games, on one side, and cooperation games (Stag Hunt), on the other. The former will be used to analyze logical notions (truth, proof) and the latter to analyze conventions (David Lewis). The interplay between knowledge and rationality will be a constant theme of the course. The course is intended for a philosophical audience with a minimal knowledge of logic (Introductory level).Additional reading material
