Aims, contents and method of the course

Diese Lehrveranstaltung bietet eine umfassende Beschäftigung mit Themenbereichen wie Trans- und Posthumanismus, moderne Bio- und Cyborgtechnologien, Gehirn-Doping und Neuro-Enhancement.
Dabei stellt sich immer wieder die grundlegende ethische Frage, inwieweit es machbar und wünschenswert ist, den Menschen individuell und kollektiv zu verbessern. Was bedeuten im Zusammenhang mit dieser Debatte Begriffe wie Menschenwürde, menschliche Natur sowie Normen und Moral? Welche Träume vom perfekten Menschen sind legitim und welche nicht? Ansätze solcher Technologien wie Herzschrittmacher und Prothesen gehören mittlerweile zum Alltag, andere sind Inhalt von Science-Fiction und sogenannten Allmachtsphantasien.

Active participation during individual and group assignments throughout the course, presentation, written paper (methodological analysis and reflection)

Active participation during the seminar (80% physical presence at least), seminar paper
