Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar we will be discussing different theories of truth: correspondence, deflationary, pragmatic. We will be reading papers dealing with these theories and discussing them.We will also distinguish the semantic from axiomatic theories of truth.
Moreover, we will read a few papers of Frank Ramsey dealing with this topic and discuss them as well.

Assessment and permitted materials

Each student will hold a short talk based on the reading of a selected article.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Regular presence at the seminar and discussion. A short presentation of a selected topic. Final seminar paper.
