Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Kommentar: The course introduces students to a selection of the main problems in moral philosophy from an Anglo-American perspective. Topics to be discussed: the status and nature of ethical claims, varieties of consequentialism, the concept of rights, moral relativism and deontological foundationalism.
Didaktik: In the last semesters the format of having one intense week of alternating student presentations, debates, and coffee breaks has proven highly successful both in terms of student satisfaction and the standard of the debate.
