Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In a first section the discussion of classical Chinese philosophy (Menzius, Hsün tse) is led to end. The second section comprises an account of the conditions which made the Confucianism to the dominating political and cultural system in China.
The next section is dedicated to the detailed discussion of different schools of the Chinese Buddhism, above all those which is unknown in the West.

Assessment and permitted materials

Die Prüfung erfolgt in schriftlicher Form am Ende dieses und zu Beginn des nächsten Semesters (Anmeldung über des Internet: www.univie.ac.at/uvo )

Die LV ist eine Vorlesung, an deren Gestaltung sich die Hörerinnen und Hörer in freier Weise beteiligen sollen.
