Aims, contents and method of the course

Das Seminar widmet sich in diesem Semester der "Linie". Die einzelnen Einheiten werden u.a. folgende Themen behandeln:

- Linie und Gerade (Euklid)
- Linie und Kontinuum I (der moderne mathematische Kontinuumsbegriff)
- Linie und Kontinuum II (Aristoteles, das Teilen, die Zenon-Paradoxien)
- Linie und Kontinuum III (Peirce)
- Linie und Kurve (die Entwicklung des modernen Kurvenbegriffs in der Mathematik)
- Linie und Fläche I (der Dimensionsbegriff in der Mathematik)
- Linie und Fläche II (aus der Perspektive der klassischen modernen Kunst: Paul Klee, Kandinsky)
- Linie, Spur, Bahnung (Derrida: gramme, trace, frayage)
- Linie, Grenze, Grenzlinie (Kant, Wittgenstein, politische Philosophie)

Assessment and permitted materials

Anforderungen fuer den Erwerb eines Zeugnisses: Schriftliche Seminararbeit, mündliches Referat, Teilnahme an der Diskussion.
