Aims, contents and method of the course

In diesem Seminar werden zentrale Fragestellungen der gegenwärtigen analytischen Philosophie der Sozialwissenschaften zur Diskussion gestellt werden. (Dazu dienen rezente englischsprachige Textsammlungen als Grundlage.) Besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf Versuchen, das Programm eines nicht-reduktiven Naturalismus durchzuführen und somit interpretative Gesichtspunkte zu berücksichtigen . Behandelte Themen umfassen die Frage der Wertproblematik in den Sozialwissenschaften, Möglichkeit und Arten von kausaler Erklärung, Interpretations- und Handlungstheorie, Fragen zur Rational Choice Theorie, Reduktionismus und methodologischer Individualismus, die Rolle von Normen und Konventionen in Institutionen.

Assessment and permitted materials

1x mündlicher Vortrag im Seminar und 1x schriftliche Arbeit (3.-4.000 Worte) zu vereinbarten Themen.
