Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of this course is to give insight about understanding of disability in developing countries. The course will have a holistic perspective to show how culture and values have an effect on the formation of disability identity. Different definitions, perspectives and understandings of disability will be discussed within the developing country context. Several countries including African, South Asian, Latin countries will be in the literature of the course.
Assessment and permitted materials
In-class participation, presentation and term paper are required to finish the course successfully.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
English is required to follow the course and submit the assignements. The literature of the course will be mainly in English.

Reading list
The litearture will be provided by the instructor and it will inlcude articles and book chapters as well as video clips and newspaper articles.
