Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The focus of the seminar will be to look at the development and changes of educational ideas and theories with regard to the emergence of different academic disciplines from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Students will get a grasp of how education has been influenced by different interrelated siences and epistemologies (including disciplines such as Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology and Medicine) as well as how education strived to developing into its own.
Assessment and permitted materials
- writen exam (open book) or seminar paper (in German or English)
- short reflective memos (1–2 pages) throughout the semester (in German or English)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
- Die Beurteilung der Prüfung bzw. der Seminararbeit macht 50% der Schlussnote aus.
