Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
A critical, introductory study of central concepts, theories, and models of teaching and learning in the field of curriculum and pedagogy. This study will trace definitions and concepts of the above from historical to contemporary times, and explore the implications for the curricular commonplaces of teacher, learner, subject matter, milieu, and curriculum making. Implications will be further illustrated and investigated through empirical case studies of curriculum and pedagogy in formal and informal educational contexts. Scholarship from a variety of international scholarsestablished and emerging will provide the basis for discussion and critique. Students will be encouraged to connect with the course content through their own educational specialties and interests.
