Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar, students develop, report, and present a research design for their Master’s thesis. The design concerns a topic in educational science of their own choice. They will give and receive feedback from the instructor and their peers. The instructor’s expertise is in educational research methodology, higher education, and educational technology.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written research design.
Poster presentation of the research design.
Handling of feedback from the instructor and peers throughout the module.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The goal of this seminar is to help students to develop a research design for their Master’s thesis. Given the expertise of the instructor, which is in the field of Mixed Methods, students who intend to perform a mixed methods study, including both qualitative and quantitative research components, are especially welcome.
