Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims: Participants understand the pedagogical function of media in both a social and a school context and can work out their own position from this.

Contents: In addition to the media theory basics of teaching and learning with media, an introduction to the basics and concepts of media literacy is a central content. There is also a focus on media education in the social and school context.

Methods: In the seminar, selected essays and work results of the participants are discussed together. In self-study, students develop and present their own position on a freely chosen topic. Colleagues provide feedback on the completed work steps.

Assessment and permitted materials

The overall performance consists of the following partial performances:
- Active participation on site and online via Moodle incl. reading and excerpting literature (30%)
- Preparation and presentation of a seminar paper on a topic of your choice (40%)
- Preparation and writing of a peer review (30%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance is compulsory. Regular attendance is a prerequisite for assessment. A total of two unexcused absences are permitted for the seminar.
Reading the texts is expected. The course instructor reserves the right to hold a final discussion on all partial performances.
For a positive assessment, a total of at least 50% must be achieved.
In the event of plagiarism of a partial performance, the entire seminar is considered plagiarized.

A total of 100 points can be achieved.
Assessment standard:
From 50 points: Sufficient (4)
From 65 points: Satisfactory (3)
From 75 points: Good (2)
85 points or more: Very good (1)
