Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Im Seminar werden wir uns einerseits mit aktuellen wissenschaftlichen und politischen Diskursen über 'GastarbeiterInnen' (aus der Türkei, Ex-Jugoslawien, Italien usw.) auseinandersetzen. Andererseits werden wir uns mit den theoretischen und methodologischen Grundlagen des interpretativen Paradigmas auseinandersetzen und gemeinsam (in kleinen Gruppen) Textausschnitte aus biographisch-narrativen Interviews, Briefen und Fotografien von 'GastarbeiterInnen aus der Türkei auswerten.
Bei dem Material geht es um Daten, die im Rahmen meiner Dissertation (Migration Narratives Juxtaposed: A Sociological Analysis of Photos, Letters and Biographies of 'Guest Workers' from Turkey living in Austria) erhoben wurden.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regelmäßige Anwesenheit (10%), Präsentation von Rechercheergebnissen (15%), Auswertung in Kleingruppen und Präsentation von Auswertung (30%), Seminararbeit (45%)
