Aims, contents and method of the course
The discourse of the other and foreign enjoys both in classical and contemporary debates of educational theories as well in psychoanalytic provenance great popularity. The other can be understood as a related person, as a human being or as a genuinely different origin (radically) foreign entity in ourselves, e.g. in the structure of the psychoanalytic concept of contoured ubiquitous unconscious. The attempt to approach the Other is always a paradoxical movement, so far the largest (ethical) risk from a philosophical point of view is calling on the Other's alterity. But proceeding from the requirement that educational processes are always already given in an interaction between self, world, and others, the question will be discussed, how "Bildung" can and must be thought "in the claim" of the Other.
