Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Getting to know the concept of corporeality in different disciplinary approaches with special consideration of discourse theory and phenomenology. Contents are empirical material from social media (staging on Instagram) and teaching situations that are analysed for body representations and gender relations. Methods used include discussions, presentations and case interpretation.

Assessment and permitted materials

Group presentations analysing empirical material provided or found by the students themselves under the perspective of the theories presented.
Elaboration of an essay in which the presented theories and empirical material are analysed; the essay should also argue for the own position.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

30% Collaboration and participation in discussions as well as text reading and collaboration in the Moodle course.
35% presentations held in the course
35% essayistic term paper
