Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar students will develop a fundamental understanding of theories on biography and their implications for theorizing education and learning processes. Participants will study texts by selected representatives of educational biography research, that discuss central concepts as biography, autobiography, life story, life course, biographizity, and their relevance within educational science. Depending on students'; interests these concepts will be linked to current questions of educational research and educational politics.
This course is designed as a reading class; that means, it focuses on close reading of basic literature. It offers the possibility to generally discuss ways to approach academic texts and to practice academic reading skills. This course explicitly addresses MA-students who feel insecure with such requirements.
