identifying such groups are e.g. gender, race (migration), language,
poverty, and the so called socioeconomic status. In this seminar we
will look atHow are these subgroups constructed?Why and how is being in one of these categories said to be associated
with deviant achievement?What do we know about the construct validity of such claims?
