Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the seminar is to learn the techniques of scientific work based on an exemplary educational science topic. Therefore, we will deal with the preparation of scientific papers, from finding a topic to literature research to the actual writing. In terms of content, we deal with the role of school in the (re-)production of nationalistic ways of thinking in growing generations. We will discuss theoretical approaches as well as some case studies.

Assessment and permitted materials

15-minute group presentation (20%)
Two assignments during the semester (30%; 1st assignment 10%, 2nd assignment 20%)
Active participation (10%)
Proseminar paper of 10-15 pages (40%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For positive completion, 60% of the total points must be achieved, all performance requirements must be met, and the library tour and research training must be attended.
