Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In view of the rapidly advancing global warming (climate crisis) and its consequences for human societies, it is necessary to subject pedagogy to a revision as well. Scientific education has produced many answers in the course of its history, which are still being handed down. However, they often do not understand, if one does not perceive the underlying problems. Therefore, the lecture is based on the key issues of pedagogy and pursues the concept that you can then better understand the formation of science as a discipline, if it is clear what questions and issues its considerations. Even if not all the answers given in the history of the discipline can still convince today, the issues are often still highly relevant.

Examination topics
The examination relates to the texts that were dealt with in the lecture. The MC questions are not based on the lecture, but on the texts discussed. Nonetheless, the lecture directs attention to the problematic contexts in the texts, which will also be the subject of the examination.
Reading list
In addition to introductory texts on the problem of the climate crisis (IPCC report), fundamental texts in educational science are discussed. The procedure is less in chronological order than in systematic order. An introduction to central problem contexts is provided by Hannah Arendt's text on the crisis in education. Then discuss various problem areas based on the draft by Dietrich Benner and then deepen them with central texts by Plato, Luther, Rousseau, the philanthropists, Schleiermacher, Dewey, Butler. The literature is made available via moodle.
