Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar, we will discuss concepts of "knowledge" and "Bildung" (education/formation). We focus on tradition of thinking about knowledge and Bildung and on traditions of the constitution of philosophy of education.

attendance to the seminar; reading papers; discussion; written statements; test at the end of semester

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

This seminar aims at developing a deeper understanding of philosophy of education due to discussions of different points of view on philosophy of education. We will debate about possibilities and limits of the academic approach to education and formation.
