Aims, contents and method of the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The objective of the course is for the students to obtain a comprehensive picture of various pedagogical approaches characterized by the global perspective, to become acquainted with related teaching methods, materials and media and to gain insight into issues revolving around the practice of global education in the classroom.
Examination topics
" Course readings as the basis of group discussions
" Short presentations of student study groups
" Examining, presenting and performing a sample of global education activities, games and exercises
" Excursion (2 hrs) to BAOBAB Library

Specific course readings will be assigned for each session. Selected readings are available for download at the eLearning platform of the course.

This course invites prospective teachers to enter into a reflective, convivial dialogue examining visions and arguments concerning aims, values, methods, and assumptions underlying global education. The course introduces students to a broad range of viewpoints, approaches, orientations as well as teaching methods, materials and media exploring and examining various pedagogical conceptions such as peace education, human rights education, environmental education, development education, education for sustainability and multicultural education under the common denominator of the global approach.
The seminar will be conducted as eLearning course.
