Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar consists of two parts:

Part A consists of an introduction to essential topics of experimental research, such as literature search, scientific reading and writing, and basic research methods.

Part B consists of student presentations and subsequent discussions on current research topics in the fields of perceptual and cognitive psychology.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Active participation

- Oral presentation (group)

- Preparation of i.e. a discussion or a small experiment etc. (group)

- Term paper (individual)

- Participation in experiments

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Training of basic academic skills, such as searching for literature, making citations, designing experiments etc.

- To train the ability to critically assess research articles

- The integration of theoretical knowledge with practical academic skills

- To provide an overview of current topics in the fields of perceptual and cognitive psychology
