Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Mental processes are attributes of biological organisms and their brains. This seminar provides basic information of biological processes, which define and support life. The focus will be at regulatory mechanisms with a central role of brain.Content: Basics of human biology for psychologists. Biochemical basics of life, metabolism. Cell and tissue. Neuron, neuronal tissue, nervous system. Cellular communication, signalization. Endocrine and neural regulation. Genetics, behavioral genetics. alization. Endocrine and neural regulation. Genetics, behavioral genetics.
Assessment and permitted materials
Multiple choice tests, oral presentations (topics will be announced well in advance), activity and course participation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
There are no special requirements for this introductory course. Interest in biological psychology is an advantage.

Examination topics
The final note will reflect performance on several measures as listed above.
