Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar introduces sport psychology as an applied psychological discipline. Based on theoretical models and field relevance, sport psychological interventions to develop mental skills and improve performance will be addressed. The main areas are: arousal regulation, attention, imagery, overtraining and recovery. In addition, practical question regarding sport psychological service will be discussed.

Learning goal: Students who have successfully participated in the module seminars are able to (a) deal with methodological approaches and essential constructs of sport psychology to support and stabilize performance in sport, (b) develop training for cognitive skills, and (c) develop ideas how to present psychological training to officials and athletes.

Learning methods: Experiential learning, Case studies, Presentation, and Team work
