Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Knowledge should have an effect. Ultimately, both evaluation and transfer research are aimed at this important goal. Transfer research is concerned with how knowledge can be transferred into practice, how scientific innovations can be successfully implemented, and how scientific work can be effectively communicated. As a counterpart to scientific transfer, evaluation research deals with the application of empirical research methods to assess interventions in terms of their concept, implementation and impact. Both scientific evaluation and scientific transfer are potential fields of practice for graduates of the master's program in psychology.
This course combines lectures with exercises that practically apply the subject matter. Students will gain both specialized knowledge and practical skills in the following topics:
- Knowledge Transfer and Science Communication.
- The Do-Know-Gap - Introduction to implementation science.
- Designing evidence-based interventions
- Scientific evaluation of interventions

Please note that the course will be held in German.

Assessment and permitted materials

Individual performance is assessed during the semester by means of a portfolio. In addition, students work together in small groups to implement a transfer project. Active contribution (discussions, ...) is taken into account in the assessment. The following partial performances are included in the performance assessment:
- Portfolio accompanying the course (reflection of the subject matter)
- Implementation of a transfer project in a small group
- Constructive participation and engagement in discussion phases
- Attendance (maximum 2 absences)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements
- Compulsory attendance - students are allowed two unexcused absences.
- Participation in group project (transfer project) - recognizable contribution to planning and implementation by each individual student.
- Timely submission of the portfolio accompanying the course - To ensure good academic practice, the students may be invited to a grade-relevant interview after submission of the portfolio, which must be completed positively.

Assessment Standard
Points will be awarded for each requirement:
- Portfolio: 40 points (agreed deadline must be met)
- Quality of the transfer project (group work): 40 points
- Active participation in discussions (constructive, correct contributions and commitment): 20 points.
For a positive evaluation of the course, 60 points are required.
1 ("Sehr gut") 100-90 points
2 ("Gut") 89-81 points
3 ("Befriedigend") 80-71 points
4 ("Genügend") 70-60 points
5 ("Nicht genügend") 59-0 points
