Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar aims to advance participants’ knowledge of current academic debates and advances in job stress research and occupational health psychology.

The contents of the seminar will focus on job stress models that explain how job stressors are related to job strain and health-related work outcomes.

Each participant will be assigned a topic (1 journal article as a start for a literature research). Participants will prepare a short critical reflection about their topic (approx. 3-5 pages) as well as a presentation about their topic/reflection (about 20 minutes). Directly following their presentation each participant will actively discuss and answer questions as an expert on their topic during a questions and answers (Q&A) session (about 15 minutes).

All participants are expected to read the basic literature on all topics (1 journal article per topic) covered in the seminar, prepare questions for the Q&A sessions, and actively participate during the Q&A sessions. After the kick-off session and an introductory session each of the following ten sessions will cover two different topics.
