Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Grading system: 4 reports per group (written in English, 800 words per report, bibliographical references excluded) counting 60% in total; one oral presentation per group counting 20%; individual participation in class and online counting 20%; writing peer-feedback on another group’s reports (graded as passed or failed).In order to ensure good scientific practice, the course instructor may require an oral reflection on the submitted reports in an individual meeting with the group, which must be successfully completed.
The software "turnitin" will be used to perform an automated plagiarism check on all written reports produced during this lecture course.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Good language skills in German and English. Attendance (on site) is compulsory; students may be absent for no more than two lectures. Students need to successfully complete all assignments in order to obtain a positive overall grade.
Examination topics
This year’s course focuses on two broad topics: 1) hypnosis and personality (online survey), 2) empathy and observational fear learning (analysis of pre-existing ECG data). The specific examination topics will be assigned by the lecturer.

(6) Conduct the studyProgram: The students will be taught the steps 1 to 6. Six groups of 4 students each will be created. Each group will write one report for each step from 1 to 4 and will be evaluated on this basis. In the summer term, 2-3 groups will collect one common data sample to answer all their different research questions.
