In this seminar, we will first aim to understand the methods used in the field (including EEG, fNIRS, fMRI): what information about the brain they provide, how they are used with infants and older children, and what their limitations are. Then, we will discuss a number of recent studies on neurocognitive development, and cover some of the major debates in the field (including various facets of the "nature-nurture" debate).
