In the course of this application seminar students will create their own experiment under supervision, test a small sample, analyze, and report the results of these experiments. Previous experience in programming is not necessary. This application seminar is primarily application-oriented. This means that the focus is on a very general introduction to R and OpenSesame and the most basic statistical methods (e.g. ANOVA, test of mean differences, correlations) are taught.
At the end of the seminar the participants should be able to create and evaluate behaviour experiments independently.Since the seminar participants will also collect data in the behavioural laboratory themselves, some of the dates listed here will be replaced by individually agreed upon laboratory dates. More detailed information will be provided in the first lesson.
