Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this two-semester seminar (WS 2024/25 & SS 2025), an in-depth theoretical and empirical examination of a current topic area of work and organizational psychology or occupational health psychology takes place, especially with regard to stress management in the workplace. By actively engaging in all phases of the research process, students should become familiar with research in work and organizational psychology and thus be prepared for writing their Master's thesis. This includes the literature search and the selection and preparation of literature, the guided development of a research question and the derivation and registration of hypotheses, the planning and implementation of an empirical study as well as the evaluation of the collected data and the scientific presentation of the results. In the first semester (WS 2024/25), theoretical content is elaborated in depth. Literature is read critically. A proposal or preregistration/registered report is prepared and a planning presentation is given. In the second semester (SS 2025), empirical studies are carried out and evaluated, building on the theoretical foundations previously developed. The results will be presented at the end of the semester (lectures, poster presentation).
