Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Behavioural public policy is an interdisciplinary approach to policy design that draws on insights from behavioural economics, psychology, and other social sciences to develop effective and human-centred policy measures. In this seminar, various ways of influencing human behaviour – particularly in response to societal challenges – are introduced and critically discussed. This includes examining both the possibilities and limitations of individual-level policies (nudges, boosts) as well as system-level policies (incentives, mandates).
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment includes attendance and participation (20%), one group presentation (40%), and one group written assignment (40%). The details will be elaborated during the first session. In-person attendance is required for this course because much of the class time will be devoted to interaction and discussion among students. However, students are not expected to attend all sessions but will have the choice of which to attend.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Passing requires at least a 50% grade on each assessment component.
Examination topics
This will be elaborated during the first session.
