Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of the course is to provide an in-depth overview of lifelong learning, its concepts and learning practices in different contexts across the lifespan. The content covers different theories on learning in light of lifelong learning (self-regulated learning, motivation, self-efficacy), environmental factors influencing lifelong learning (socialization, stereotypes, digitalization) in relevant life periods (schooling, professional development, retirement).
Assessment and permitted materials
Students should read a recommended scientific paper every week and answer a related question on Moodle in advance to the seminar. Each week two students should shortly present (max. 5 minutes each; in English) a concept related to the recommended paper of that week. In addition, once during the semester each student should write a reflective essay with critical review of a chosen concept/article related to lifelong learning (4-6 pages; in English or German).

Minimum requirements- Compulsory attendance (students are allowed two unexcused absences)

- Essay: 50 points
- Presentation: 30 points
- Active participation in discussions (constructive, correct contributions and commitment): 20 points.For a positive evaluation of the course, 60 points are required.
