The course will provide theoretical and practical foundations for the neuropsychological treatment of patients with acquired brain injury (e.g. stroke). Neuropsychological dysfunctions after brain injury seldom appear isolated. Therefore conducting treatments can be challenging, especially with respect to standardized application. In the course we will recap neuropsychological disorders after brain damage, and basic knowledge of neuropsychological disorders after brain injury. The seminar will then focus on neuropsychological treatments for patients with acquired brain damage. Students will get to know typical neuropsychological treatments and reflect on challenges with respect to applying them. Methods:
Frontal lectures, clinical case discussions and students presentations/role plays of the tests used to assess neuropsychological functions.
