Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Bedeutung von materiellem Besitz für den Menschen und daraus ableitbare praktische Implikationen stehen inhaltlich im Mittelpunkt dieses Seminars. Zusätzlich bietet dieses Seminar die Möglichkeit Sprachbarrieren zu überwinden und Präsentationsfähigkeiten in der englischen Sprache zu verbessern. ``----------------------------------------``This course focuses on the meaning of material possessions to mankind and on its implications for the practice. In addition it provides an opportunity to reduce anxiety and thresholds related to talking in English.``In particular, we will address questions such as: ````What is money and how do consumers understand its meaning? ``What happens if you give people money?``What’s so special about possessing and why are we so averse to give away what we possess? ``What’s so special about purchasing and why become some people addicted to it? ``Does more money make people happier? ``Why do people save or borrow money? Does borrowing make people happy?``Why and when do people give money to someone else?

Da es sich um keinen Englischkurs handelt fließt die sprachliche Qualität der Bearbeitung und Mitarbeit explizit NICHT in die Beurteilung ein.``Die Beurteilung erfolgt auf Basis von Anwesenheit, Präsentation, kurzer Seminararbeit und aktiver Mitarbeit (auch im E-Learning-Forum).``----------------------------------------``This is no English course. Therefore, grades will NOT be based on language skills. ``Grades will be based on class attendance, quality of presentation and assignments, as well as degree and quality of participation during class and on the e-learning platform.
