The course is heavily hands-on, since students need to acquire empirical data, and analyze it with the software R.
In order to do so, they first need to learn the R language through a series of lectures and practical exercises.
Although most of the work will take place during class, students are also required to spend some time outside of classes to complete programming exercises and data acquisition.
