Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to systematic reviews and meta-analyses with particular focus on clinical research.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presence, in-class participation, online activities, presentations, and brief report about the practical meta-analytic example as introduce within the course, group activities.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge about theoretical bases of meta-analytical approaches, acquisition of basic skills to conduct meta-analyses in practice, preparation for master theses with focus on systematical reviews.

Examination topics

Reading of topic-relevant literature (journal articels, selected book chapters), demonstration of adequate practical knowledge of methods within the framework of systematical reviews, presentation, tutor-guided work on and student-guided report on the practical meta-analytical example.
