Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
ATTENTION: THE LECTURE STARTS NO EARLIER THAN 10. MARCH 2009!The lecture provides an overview of the most pertinent topics of applied cognitive psychology: memory, its functions and disorders; attention, action control and action slips; influences of substances and biological cycles on cognitive performance; decision making and decision errors; and reading research. A brief introduction into the historical development of the area is given at the beginning of the course.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exams, multiple choice, at the end of the lecture.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge acquisition concerning the - methods of applied cognitive psychology; - research results of applied cognitive psychology; history of the domain; and - applications of cognitive psychology.
Examination topics
Lecture; self reading (of text book); written exams.
