Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:
The participants of the course should get an insight into professional practices in crisis intervention / acute care.

content:
human behavior in crisis and emergency situations, basics of psychotraumatology, suicide, grief, conversation and psychological interventions, mental hygiene, talking with children, culture and religion, etc.

Method:
Method mix: discussion, group work, individual work, role play, expert lecture, presentation, self-reading

Assessment and permitted materials

• attendence, active participation and mutual support
• conscientious preparation before sessions and post-session follow-up (reading, Moodle)
• completion of tasks given in the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

• attend at least 80% of presence units
• active participation
• hand in at least 60% of the tasks (to finish course positively)

Examination topics

Course with continuous assessment of students' performance (compulsory attendance!): Tasks available on the internet should be prepared by students.
