Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The primary aim of this course is to make it easier for students to start a Master's thesis at the Chair of Motivation Psychology. In terms of content, the seminar focuses on topics and methods that are researched and applied in dissertations and projects at the Chair of Motivational Psychology. Students learn about the research process, starting with a research question and ending with the writing and presentation of research results by actively participating in an ongoing research project.Students are involved in groups in ongoing research projects at the Chair of Motivational Psychology and active participation in the projects is an essential part of the seminar. In the first semester (TEWA 1), the data collection for the project takes up a large part of the work. This is expected to take up to 12 hours per week per person. The amount of time varies depending on the project phase (e.g., more during data collection than in other phases) and is distributed individually within the team.In addition to the project work, there are seminar units on presentation techniques and scientific writing techniques.
