Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction into the design of investigations, descriptive and inferential statisticss, writing of scientific reports

Assessment and permitted materials

Basis are the presentations (1/3) and the final research report (2/3)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To design and perform a scientific investigation, to apply suitable statistical methods, to write a scientific paper

Examination topics

Research questions will be provided. Groups of four students each will select one of these topics. The group designs a scientific investigation to address the research question. In a planning lecture this research proposal will be presented. Subsequently the study will be performed, evaluated and the results presented in another lecture. Finally a research report will be prepared.
