Aims, contents and method of the course

theoretical basics: ontological and epistemological positions; empirical research designs; positioning quantitative methods
data collection:Who: populations and samples; What: measurement and its quality, questions and questionnaires; How: modes of data collection
data analysis: describing one variable: measures of position and variation, graphical methods; describing two variables: crosstabs and measures of association, covariance and correlation, graphical methods; statistical estimators and tests: point and intervall estimators, priciples of statistical testing, t-test, Chi2-Test
