Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course deals with visual methods in political science. Participants will learn step by step to analyze visual images against the background of their contexts of production and use. In the course we will learn different methods (e.g. visual context analysis, image type analysis, visual frame analysis) and apply them to current examples (e.g. political photo opportunities, political memes, etc.).

Objectives:
Apply a visual method in the context of an independent research project under the guidance of the course instructor: collect, process, and analyze data, and interpret and present results.
