Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Participation requirements: Preparation of the required literature, active participation in the seminar discussions, short presentation in class (the hand-out has to be sent three days before the presentation via email), final paper.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Introduction to theories of transformation and democratization; basic understanding of the nation-building processes in the East Asian region
