Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular and active participation throughout the semester, presentation of own research, feedback for colleagues, summaries of literature and (possibly) seminar papers.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This seminar is designed to serve, in particular, the needs of students preparing a Master or Doctoral Thesis in the field of European integration.
Examination topics
Issues of research design will be discussed in-depth, on the basis of the students¿ own research outlines, and so will classic and recent literature from the field of European integration theory.

European Integration is understood in a wide sense, covering
- the bottom-up shifting of competences,
- the background to deadlock and breakthrough in EU decision-making, and finally
- the top-down impact of European integration in the member states and beyond (¿Europeanization¿).
