Aims, contents and method of the course
Introdcution to quantitative social science resaerch. This is an applied seminar which focuses on data analysis.Participation in Dr Markus Wagner's lecture is strongly recommended.
Assessment and permitted materials
Final Paper: 40%
4 written assignments: each 10%
active participation: 20%The lecturer may ask students to attend a personal appointment about their course work relevant for the final assessment, if need be.Note that all assignments have to be submitted to successfully pass this course.

Intended learning goals:- general understanding of different quantitative social science resaerch methods for data analysis
- Application of these methods in the software package Stata
- Ability to work with quantiative data independently (data collection, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation)
